My Dad worked for Imperial tobacco in the late 50s and drove a station wagon with a giant cigarette on top. (I need to put that on my blog!) Needless to say, he died of smoking-related illnesses. My mother was told by a doctor in 1949 to smoke to calm her nerves after the death of HER mother. (My mother was 16 at the time and she later died of lung cancer.) Times change, eh?!
